four major newscasts each weekday and two major reports each Saturday and Sunday.
· Radar Weather...click here for up-to-the-minute radar weather and forecast
Beside the few area television stations, WHSM is the ONLY broadcast facility to offer RADAR WEATHER reports. The unit is placed in our FM control room and offers features such as a 32 to 1 zoom. This allows our reporters to actually distinguish the density of any given rain or snow storm. We track weather as well as the national service does. The radar is on and tracking every hour of the day.
During Extreme Weather conditions WHSM staff will be on the air with you bringing you all the latest information from storm track information (with the help of our Radar Weather station) to damage reports and road and business closings. Our goal is to keep you safe and informed.
· Outdoor Programming
Because we live and work in a viable outdoor environment, WHSM runs more lifestyle/outdoor programming than any other area station.
Wisconsin Northland Outdoors runs at 6 pm nightly on WHSM FM. The weekend outlook runs each Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the morning and we have a thirty minute "live" call-in show which runs on both our stations at 9 am Sunday. All programs are produced and hosted by John Myhre, well known and award winning guide and member of the Outdoor Writers Association.
